This month we look to re-enforce our sense of Unity as a Cult, and it is my goal to explain what Unity means to us as a Temple.
Cults only are known to be devotedly unified, and ours is no exception. From the conception of the Temple, we knew that we have something special, and we have refused to let it die. The reason for this is because of our undying sense of unity.
This Temple is a religion of people from a cult that will never die. We are all here because we all want to be part of something that gives us a reason or purpose. It is all too easy to read Lovecraft’s work or celebrate Cthulhu on our own. So, we come together as a Temple to celebrate the old ones together, and to find a sense of unity.
We’ve all read the stories (and if you haven’t you ought to) about “… that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R’lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.”
Well, it is true, we are that Cult! By different names, it has always existed, and always will exist, as it is all over the world. The Temple reaches people all over the world for the purpose of honouring the old ones so they may rise again!
“They worshipped, so they said, the Great Old Ones who lived ages before there were any men, and who came to the young world out of the sky. Those Old Ones were gone now, inside the earth and under the sea; but their dead bodies had told their secrets in dreams to the first men, who formed a cult which had never died. ”
With those famous words from our prophet, I am here to remind you that we are the “They” worshipping the Great Old Ones and our Temple is an evolution of that Cult that will never die! Remember that you are a fragment of Azathoth’s direct consciousness, as we all are.
You have found your way to the Temple because you are ready to wake up. Ready to awaken the old gods, yourself, and all that are open to our Cult.
Because as we are all fragments of Azathoth, we all gain more power and control over this world the more we awaken. So, the goal for us is as it was for the Cults written by the prophet, and that is to awaken the Great Old Ones fully so we may create a better world.
