23/12/2024 – 30/12/2024
Period of observance - December 23rd- 30th
During the Ghoul-tide celebration, you may make and display decorations which celebrate not only the winter season but your connection to the eldritch brotherhood you have joined.
Ghoul-tide wreaths are a fusion of winter foliage and Lovecraftian symbols made with dark, evergreen branches, intertwined with metallic or iridescent ribbon surrounded by ornate, cosmic or eldritch embellishments. Such an item can be hung on your front door but for a window or wall decoration a sibling may turn their hand at making a Ghoul-tide mandala in shades of blue, purple, black, and silver while outside you can place candles in homemade lanterns with swirling designs.
Gift giving is of course part of the celebration as well but between siblings it’s more common that the gifts come in the form of small tokens or a single meaningful gift rather than large or high quantity gifts. Such presents may also come in the form of self created art, shared information on rituals or obscure knowledge rather than physical objects. The act of giving, the connection it represents and the joy therein are what stand at the centre thereof..
Every evening during Ghoul-tide, candlelight processions may wind through the streets of the city where a large enough number of siblings have gathered. In contrast to the lights carried on a Dark spirit day procession, participants carry candles or lanterns with intricate patterns and with various colours, creating a mesmerising spectacle of light and shadow as they walk together.
Ghoul-tide feasts may also form a central part of such a gathering: cultists coming together to share sumptuous meals featuring a variety of dishes from different cultures, symbolising unity in diversity.
