“In the Temple, embracing Cosmicism means accepting a realistic and objective viewpoint of our existence, where acknowledging our insignificant place in the cosmos doesn’t lead to despair, but instead inspires curiosity and exploration.” — The Miskatonic University
Cosmicism, profoundly shaped by H.P. Lovecraft challenges the notion of human importance and presents us as a fleeting presence in an indifferent universe. This philosophy rejects the idea of divine guidance, emphasising that humanity’s struggles and achievements are inconsequential on a cosmic scale. Rather than falling into nihilism, Cosmicism encourages us to embrace our place in the universe with humility and curiosity.
Cosmicism teaches us to not mourn our insignificance but to accept it, finding inspiration in the vast mysteries that lie beyond our comprehension. Freed from existential dread we acknowledge that cosmic entities are indifferent to humanity and we focus on living meaningfully in the present.
